In the streets of Paris

Paris is slowly becoming one of my favourite cities in Europe. The last time I was there it was during summer time, and the city was crowded. Paris is probably always crowded, but it was something different this time. The hotel we stayed at is probably one of the best I’ve been too. The location was perfect and everything around the hotel was so Parisian. I really love this city. And being in the city with my boyfriend was also a plus! I finally get why people love this city so much!

I’m also nominated as  Femelle Fashionista of The Year, and I would really appreciate it if you voted for me! You can vote here! In the mean time I hope everyone has a merry Christmas!

Pont Alexandre III

I’ve been to Paris before, but there’s a lot of stuff that I haven’t done or seen in this city. One of those things that I’ve never gotten the time to see is Pont Alexandre III, which I finally did today. Pont Alexandre III is very close to our hotel, so that is a plus. It’s really one of the most beautiful places in Paris, and I get why it’s on everyone’s to-do list while being in Paris.

We also got to stop by the Christmas Market at Champ de Mars, which was very crowded. I would recommend the Christmas Market at Champs Elysees. It’s bigger and it’s not as crowded as the one in Champ de Mars. There are several Christmas Markets around the city. We were supposed to visit the Christmas Market in Notre Dame, but we never got to Notre Dame, so I guess I have to put that on my to-do list for the next trip to Paris.

I’m In Paris

Guess what? I’m finally in Paris! I’ll be here until Thursday and I’m so happy to be back. The sun was even shining for a while. The purpose of this trip is a hundred percent relaxation and fun, which is everything I need right now. We’re staying at a beautiful hotel during this trip, Hotel Opera Richepanse, with the best location. This is probably the best hotel I’ve ever been to.

We arrived very early in Paris on Monday, and we decided to eat lunch at the infamous Carette. Carette is famous for their scrambled eggs, and boy oh boy, they didn’t disappoint. Carette is the perfect place if you’re looking for a good breakfast or a lunch spot, though a bit expensive!

I love walking around in this city. It’s absolutely beautiful and there’s always something interesting around the corner. I’m very pleased with the weather too. It’s five degrees celsius, which means that the walking conditions are great.

I’m also taking over Femelle.no Instagram account while I’m here so follow Femelle on Instagram for recent updates! I would also love to get some recommendations when it comes to restaurants. We were very fortunate yesterday. I think we found the best restaurant ever! The food was immaculate!

The plan today is to stop by Galeries Lafayette at Hausmann and do some shopping and then stop by Notre Dame and the Christmas Market there!

Sore Throat Remedy

It’s so typical when you’re finally on your Christmas Holiday, but have to spend your time in bed because of the flu. I’m unfortunately one of those people who always tend to get sick during holidays. There are a lot of remedies out there that works wonders for sore throat, and I’m going to share one with you guys.

My sore throat remedy contains lemons, lime and ginger. I leave the ingredients in the hot water for 3-5 minutes before I start drinking it. You can also add some honey if you want to. I use two slices of lemon, two slices of lime and 1,5 cm of ginger. Another trick is if your throat is itching and you need some relief as soon as possible, just take eat a tablespoon with honey and you will immediately feel how the honey is soothing your throat.

When your done drinking the remedy you can actually eat the remaining ingredients. The ginger is very strong and is a super ingredients. Especially to cure sore throats.

I hope this trick works!

Winter Skin Care Tips

Struggling with dry hair, skin and lips in the wintertime? Well, you’re not the only one. Fortunately, there are many products on the market that can save us with dry skin. I have tested four products which are essential for winter.

The first product is from REN Skincare and is a Moroccan Dry Oil. This product can be used on your skin as well as your hair and has a wonderful scent of roses. I applied this product on my hair after using my curling iron three days in a row and got back the normal moisture in my hair. This product also leaves hair shiny and silky and is one of the better drying oils I’ve tried.

The second product is from Elizabeth Arden and is an Adcanced Lip Fix Crem which is perfect for dry winter lips. This product takes care of cracked lines on the lip and also takes care of the deeper lines and treats the whole lip. The product is also supplied much antioxidants to preserve moisture of your lips. You can also apply this product before you apply your lipstick. Just make sure that the Lip Fix Cream is completely dry before you apply the lipstick.

The third product is also from Elizabeth Arden and is the world renowned Eight Hour Lip Cream. This is a lip balm, but can also be used on dry hands, which is brilliant. This product is one of my all-time favourites and is constantly with me in my bag.

The fourth and final product is an Argan Oil from Björn Axén with added oils from macadamia nuts and a plant called buckthorn. The Moroccan Argan oil is rich with antioxidants which is good for your hair. This product is also good for you with dry hair and especially for you with dry ends.

Elizabeth Arden Liquid Series

Elizabeth Arden’s Liquid Lipsticks are creamy and gives immaculate coverage. The lipstick is highly pigmented and contains emollient ester and glycerin, which soften the lips and adds to comfortable wear.
The lipsticks comes in an innovative pen-style that you click when you apply the lipstick.

As it is a liquid lipstick it dries, but it doesn’t leave your lips feeling dry. Because of the emollient ester your lips feel soft while wearing the lipstick, and also after you’ve removed the lipstick. There are several liquid lipsticks that dries your lips out completely and makes your lips dry for several days after, but the Liquid Lipsticks from Elizabeth Arden doesn’t.

The series also comes in several beautiful colours. I’ve tried Seductive Magenta, Pink Lover and Fiery Red. By the way, these are perfect to give your sister, girlfriend or mother for Christmas.
